You and I are a Divine creation. God designed us with His specific plan in mind for our life. God created us as three-part beings. We are a Spirit, we have a Soul and we live in a Body. In addition, we are a combination of three different and separate building blocks. The Temperament, the Personality, and the Character.

Temperament - Our Temperament is placed in us by God at the time of conception. These temperaments have strengths and weaknesses, as well as wants and needs. God has a very specific plan for our life. He has deposited in us the prefect temperament in order for us to carry his perfect plan. Our temperament will remain the same throughout our life since God’s plan doesn’t change.
Character - As your temperament comes in contact with the environment, your character is formed. This includes things such as: basic environment, home life, intellectual level, education, birth order, gender, nationality/culture, socio-economic level, and life experiences.

Personality - Personality is the behavior [or mask] that we chose because of our perception of how our world demands we should behave. Our perceptions may or may not be correct. For example, when two people are dating, each will chose to project [to one degree or another] a certain type of personality based upon what they perceive will “win-over” the other. Once married, the masks will slowly come off revealing their true character and temperament

The way a man perceives himself, his world and God will determine how he will behave. These perceptions are founded in the temperament. Therefore, the temperament is the determining factor of what we are. Our environment and your relationship with God determines what we will become.
In addition to gaining insight into why we think and the way we do in certain situations, understanding the Temperament of others is a powerful tool to help you understand people and predict their behavior.
